The retention of Zr from potential therapeutic silica-zirconia core-shell nanoparticles in aquatic organisms

• No acute toxicity of silica-zirconia core–shell NP was found for D. magna and rerio . Retention Zr from the form ZrO 2 in both species. The same concentration molecular (ZrOCl ) did not result elevation fish tissue. environmental risk is higher than form. Trace element homeostasis, growth survival were affected by SiO @ZrO exposition. Model experiments under laboratory conditions carried out to assess accumulation tendency a nanoparticles, synthesised assay. Acute exposition tests conducted with Daphnia Danio nano compared. Significant tissue test organisms treated compared control, however, retention zebrafish lower that daphnids. Increased level bioconcentration factor strong correlation redundancy analysis data suggest , yet long-term are required prove further food-chain bioconcentration. BCF results REACH limit groups indicating low short-term NP. However, significantly individuals originating exposed treatments supplemented ZrOCl which trace homeostasis no lethality occurred.
